JL Dance Payment Terms and FAQs

1. Payment Schedule:

  • Monthly Invoicing: JL Dance operates on a 12-month ‘spread-the-cost’ system, which distributes the annual cost of dance classes into 12 equal monthly payments. This change from half-termly billing to monthly invoicing is designed to make payments more predictable and manageable.
  • Advance Invoicing: Invoices are sent one month in advance and are due for payment two weeks prior to the start of the month. This schedule helps align payment with the service period and facilitates smoother operational planning.

2. Consistent Monthly Payments:

  • Even Distribution: Each monthly payment is an average of the annual cost divided by twelve, rather than a reflection of each month’s class attendance. This method ensures consistent, manageable payments and simplifies family budgeting.
  • No Payment for Non-service Days: Payments reflect the spread cost of actual service days throughout the year. Holidays and planned closures are accounted for in the annual calculation, so you are not paying extra for these periods.

3. Adjustments and Credits:

  • Closures and Events: Should there be any closures or JL Dance events that coincide with regular class times, credits equivalent to the value of the missed classes are applied to your account. This ensures fairness and that you only pay for the classes your child attends.

4. Payment Methods:

  • Automatic Payments: After the initial trial period, all customers are required to set up automatic payments. This method ensures timely fee collection, essential for the smooth operation of our academy, and reduces the administrative overhead associated with manual payment tracking.
  • Benefits of Automatic Payments:
    • Consistency and Timeliness: Ensures that payments are made consistently on time, crucial for the smooth functioning of our dance academy.
    • Convenience: Offers a ‘set and forget’ solution, eliminating the need to remember monthly payment deadlines and reducing the risk of late payments.
    • Resource Efficiency: Frees up our staff to focus on providing high-quality dance education rather than managing payment collections.

5. Commitment to Transparency:

  • Pro-rated Payments: When joining mid-year, your first month’s payment will be pro-rated to account for any lessons missed prior to joining.
  • Annual Enrolment Fee: An annual enrolment fee of £24.00 is charged, which is also pro-rated if joining part-way through the year.

6. Late Payment Policy:

  • Late Fee: A fee of £15 is applied to any invoice that is more than 10 days overdue. This policy is in place to encourage timely payments and maintain financial stability.

7. Cancellation and Refund Policy:

  • Private Lessons and Room Hire: Full payment is required at booking. Cancellations made with less than 72 hours notice for private lessons and less than 48 hours for room hire are non-refundable. However, refunds for cancellations are not automatic; please contact us if a refund is required.
